Raízes de Mulher: Sementes de Futuro

Uma homenagem ao papel da mulher na agricultura e no desenvolvimento rural

Em 2026, ano em que a Organização das Nações Unidas proclama o Ano Internacional da Mulher na Agricultura, a CCDR Centro, I.P. dá voz e futuro ao feminino rural. A exposição «Raízes de Mulher: Sementes de Futuro» é mais do que uma mostra: é um espaço de encontro, memória e transformação.

O Conceito

Esta exposição revela histórias entranhadas no solo e escritas pelo tempo. É um tributo às mulheres que fazem da terra a sua matéria de vida:

• As Guardiãs: Agricultoras que seguem o ritmo das estações e pastoras detentoras de saberes ancestrais.
• As Inovadoras: Mulheres que, em laboratórios, campos e empresas, desenham os novos horizontes do desenvolvimento rural.

Aqui, a resistência cruza-se com a criação, e a tradição caminha lado a lado com a inovação.

O que vai encontrar

Entre imagens e palavras, a exposição compõe um coro de testemunhos vivos:

• Fotografia e Narrativa: Cada gesto guardado numa imagem; cada relato que semeia consciência.
• Testemunhos em Vídeo: A força das palavras e a verdade dos gestos destas mulheres conferem à exposição uma humanidade profunda e incontestável.
• Património Iconográfico: Materiais provenientes dos espólios do Arquivo Municipal de Lisboa e da Biblioteca de Arte da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian.

“Todas as mulheres do povo se parecem umas com as outras, vivam onde viverem… A sua natureza é a mesma. Mais ou menos rudes conforme o seu nível de vida, todas são irmãs na luta, na resistência ao trabalho e ao sofrimento, no heroísmo obscuro… A força que as impele tem raízes fundas, na terra e na própria vida”. (Maria Lamas, 1948: 204)

Itinerância: A Exposição no Território

Para que estas histórias inspirem e criem novas raízes, a exposição percorrerá a região Centro, contando com o apoio fundamental dos municípios acolhedores:

Roots of Woman: Seeds of the Future

A tribute to the role of women in agriculture and rural development

In 2026, the year the United Nations proclaims the International Year of the Woman Farmer, CCDR Centro, I.P. gives a voice and a future to rural women. The exhibition “Roots of Women: Seeds of the Future” is more than just a display: it is a space for encounter, memory, and transformation.

The Concept

This exhibition reveals stories rooted in the soil and written by time. It is a tribute to the women who turn the land into their life’s work:

• The Guardians: Women farmers who follow the rhythm of the seasons and shepherdesses who hold ancestral knowledge.
• The Innovators: Women who, in laboratories, fields, and companies, design new horizons for agriculture and rural development.

Here, resilience meets creation, and tradition walks hand in hand with innovation.

What you will find

Through images and words, the exhibition composes a chorus of living testimonies:

• Photography and Narrative: Every gesture preserved in an image; every story sowing awareness.
• Video Testimonials: The power of their words and the truth of their gestures grant this exhibition a profound and undeniable humanity.
• Iconographic Heritage: Materials from the archives of the Lisbon Municipal Archive and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Art Library.

“All women of the people resemble one another, wherever they may live… Their nature is the same. More or less rugged according to their standard of living, all are sisters in the struggle, in their resistance to labor and suffering, in their unsung heroism… The force that impels them has deep roots, in the earth and in life itself.” (Maria Lamas, 1948: 204)
